In remembrance of Paul Sundquist

Paul SundquistSUNDQUIST, PAUL V., passed away on January 15, 2008, at the age of 53. A former player with the Orlando Rugby Club for the 1983 thru 1986 seasons, Paul was an avid rugger from 1978 to 2000. He played in Orlando, Florida; Park City, Utah; Escondido and on other California teams. Highlights in Orlando include being able to play with two of his brothers; John for several seasons and for a partial season with Dave. Another favorite Orlando memory was playing rugby in a hurricane in the Ft. Meyers Rugby Seven’s tournament the precursor to Beer Foot. The Orlando rugby years were the most memorable and were ample fodder for endless true lies.

The Eagle Scout’s passion was scrumhalf and would fill in at the centers or fullback when the need dictated. Paul had a real love for the game and was quick with the ball and would take it up the center to create another phase. An outdoorsman, a sportsman, and always the consummate rugger, Paul enjoyed rugby’s unique social aspects with his family, friends, teammates, and opponents alike.
Paul is survived by his wife, two children, two grandchildren, mother, five siblings, friends and his kit bag.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 26th, at 2 p.m.

Dues and Pay to Play

Starting this year there will be a new format on paying your dues by using the following three options:

1. Pay the $250 in which you are covered for the entire year.
2. Pay $150 for the Spring Season only in full.
3. All others fall into the following arrangement where a first payment of $60 dollars will be collected before the first match. For each match after that, a member is expected to pay $20 per match until they they have fulfilled their bill of $150 for the given season.

All of these options above are due before the first game on February 2nd! That means Thursday at training, not the day of the game! You now have from today until Jan. 31st to pay whichever option you select. That being said, for those who have not met their financial responsibilities to the club will not be considered for gameday until they are in good standing. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED! A list will be provided to the coach before game day so they will know who is available to play and have paid their dues.

NOTE! This does not include the $25 you have to pay to USA Rugby for CIPP. You must be registered with USA Rugby before you can play in any game!
