In appreciation to the commitment of the team with paying their dues, buying t-shirts and polo shirts, the club will provide a bus for the Div II and Div III teams this upcoming trip to Tampa. ALL PLAYERS are expected to ride the bus.  Those individuals that are interested in supporting the team that would like to also ride on the bus will be allow at a cost of 15.00 per person. We would like the old boys to come and travel with the team, along with friends and family.

Meeting place: Twin Towers at 9:00 AM
The bus will be leaving at 9:30 AM, if you are late you will be left.

There will be a Kangaroo Court on the bus ride home. If individuals have a grievance to present in front of the court the cost is 10 Dollar per grievance. The honorable Judge Grant McLean (Coach) will be presiding over the Court.

All Players need to have navy blue shorts, socks, and Orlando rugby t-shirt. For the social the club is requesting that player wear an Orlando Polo if you have one, if not an Orlando rugby T-shirt. In the future for upcoming games it will be required that all players wear navy blue shorts, socks, and Orland T-shirt. If you are out of dress code a fine will be implemented. Lets continue to keep up the great work. We have been playing well as a team and we want to continue to grow as a team.

Once we return from Tampa their will be a STINK and DRINK social. We will begin the social downtown at the Pine St. Bar.

Congrats to the Orlando Women who did outstanding in the Ft. Lauderdale Ruggerfest! On Saturday they beat The Naval Academy 17-5 followed by Ft.Lauderdale about 17-0. On Sunday in the finals against D.C. Furies, a D1 top ten team, they lost 3-5.

The Orlando Rugby club had both teams home this weekend, both involved in important must win games. The Division II team took on Bay Area Krewe while the DIII hosted Krewe’s DIII team. Dispite poor conditions for much of the day both Orlando teams pulled away late to seal two wins for the club. The Division team moved to 3-0 and into a tie with Jacksonville for 1st place while divsion II leveled their record to 1-1. Special thanks to Ryan Bledsoe and well wishes to a speedy recovery.

Orlando Men’s Div II and Div III will be hosting Krewe’s Div II and Div III team this Saturday, February 23 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. The first match for Div II begins at 1:30pm with the Div III match following at 3:30pm. All players need to be there at 12pm for selections and to support each other. Be sure to bring your money for dues!

The games will be held at Airport Lakes Park on Saturday, Feb. 16 with Div II playing St. Pete at 1:30pm and Div III playing Treasure Coast at 3:30pm.

The fields are being lined today, Friday, Feb. 15 by Matt Wise. He needs people to help @ 3pm, and is offering 5 volunteer hours to whomever can help him.

We are meeting at the fields tomorrow at noon, BOTH sides need to be there
to be selected, support the other side, and be ready to play. Players should call their teammates that they haven’t seen to make sure they come out to fill out the two sides.

IMPORTANT! All Old Boys or other players that would like to play tomorrow MUST be CIPP’d for 2008 in order to play at all on Saturday. Otherwise you will not play! Please be sure to CIPP this evening and bring a print out of the receipt to the games. You can get CIPP’d at USA Rugby. ALSO you need to bring money for dues in order to be able to play. We are asking for $60 which will cover the dues to the union along with social costs, field lining, refs, etc. if you have not paid any dues to this point.

The social will be held at Andy Heller’s bar, the Pit, which is on the corner of Michigan and Conway Road in the Winn Dixie shopping center.
