Established in 1970, the Orlando Rugby Football Club is a force in the Florida Rugby Union Division II Men’s, Women’s and Youth (U19) Programs.
The Club has fielded sides that have gone as far as winning the South’s Division I 15’s in 1998 and finishing 4th in the nation in 1999 7’s finals.
In 2015 the Men’s Division II 15’s team became the State Champions and the Women’s 7’s team are now also State Champions and will be representing Orlando Rugby in the National Championships in Iowa.
In the fall of 2005, ORFC established the Lady Griffins, the women’s counterpart to the successful men’s side and winning has come quickly to them. For over 35 years, the Orlando Rugby Football Club has fielded sides that have experienced lots of success on the field.
Off the field, ORFC is respected within the community and has been active with the Mustard Seed, a charitable organization that helps families get a second start. Socially, ORFC hosts events that range from golf tournaments and banquets to sporting events and weekend socials. Tours to Nova Scotia and the 2007.
On the field and off, ORFC is a very well organized club. Couple this with lots of sunshine, attractions, beaches, and a great job market, Orlando is a great place to live, play rugby, and contribute to the club’s success. Whether playing on the field, watching from the sidelines, or just meeting with the club for the social after the match, everyone one is welcome, young and old, men and women.
