WOW!! What a great year for our two ORFC men’s teams.
For the first time in our proud history our DII squad won the Florida Cup for the 2nd year in a row. Under the leadership of Capt Drew Percival and Coach Grant McLean the DII squad continued their winning ways finishing 2nd in the state and securing a berth in the USA South Rugby Playoff’s. Unfortunately, they were unable to continue in their winning pattern and lost in the South Play offs, away to Charleston SC.
CONGRATULATIONS & WELL DONE!!
The DIII Team had a fantastic spring season also, finishing in 1st place in the Florida DIII League. This accomplishment secured a Home Field Advantage USA South game versus Hilton Head. Under the consistent leadership of Capt Silas Sanderson and the brilliant defense of Jason Pratile they went on to win in fine fashion. This victory sent our young and promising side to Jacksonville to play in a USA South Semi Final Game against Montgomery. Unfortunately they came up short and lost to the eventual champions of the South.
On behalf of the Orlando Exec Committee and the Orlando OLDE Boys I congratulate both Teams and all the Players, Coaches, Team Managers and Fans that traveled and helped throughout the year.
Well done to all!! Let’s do it again next year and hopefully get one step further in both divisions.

Those that are interested in playing 7’s competitively this summer, there is a core group that will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursdays at 7:30 pm for practice. Our plan is to play in a number of tournaments and travel to the Qualifier tournament in Greenville on July 12th. Please come to practice beginning this Thursday May 1st at Cady Way Park. We will be able to provide you with more information in regards to schedule of tournaments and dues for the season.
Now, if you are not interested in playing competitively and just want to continue fitness training, the first part of practice will be fitness drills. Then the groups will be able to separate and those that would like to just play touch can do so.
Hope to see all out Thursday if you are interested.
Great spring season Div II and Div III.
All Div III players will be meeting at 7:30 AM at Spatz to travel up to Jacksonville for the South Championships Saturday, April 26, 2008. We will be playing at 12pm against Montgomery.
