Congratulations to the Orlando Div III Men who defeated Treasure Coast 21 - 14 to win the state of Florida and advance to the USA Rugby South Quarterfinals. They will be hosting Hilton Head on April 12, 2008 with the winner going on to the South Finals in Jacksonville, FL. A big thanks to all who came out to watch the games on Saturday. It was nice to see strong numbers especially the Old Boys on the sidelines.
Orlando Men’s A side defeated Krewe A today 39 - 20 to win the Florida Cup for the second year in a row. Congratulations guys!
The Orlando Men’s A side defeated the St. Pete Pelicans 36-3 in the semi-final of the Florida Cup to advance tomorrow for the final. They will play Krewe A, who defeated Ft. Lauderdale in their semi-final, at 1pm on Sunday. Best of luck guys!
Here is the Final schedule - a few teams decided to drop out of the competition and there is damage to the second field.
With only one pitch there are changes to the kick off times of all the games and (from the FRU VP of Competition, Franklyn Williams) all the games on Saturday will be 30 minutes/half (running time) except for the Men’s Finals which will be full 40 minutes half.
Game #1 will be the Final for the Bowl between the Tridents B vs. Gainsville.
Please have all your teams check in at the registration tent so we can go over the CIPP & game rosters at least 30 minutes before the start of your match if not earlier as to FRU rules, we are doing this so that the games can start on time and your help is appreciated.
We have organized a great Social at a local bar with free beer & food plus discounts on drinks for all you rugger that are planning of enjoying our great city night life. Information will be available at the event tent. Team discounts are available.
