The DIIs suffered their first defeat this season losing away at Naples 21-10. Orlando opened the books with an unconverted try in the first ten minutes by Kenny Britt, but the Naples defense tightened up afterwards and kept Orlando pinned in its own half for much of the remaining half. The pressure eventually yielded two converted tries and ORFC went into halftime down 14 to 5.
The second half saw more of the same solid defense from Naples. Orlando scored again with a try in the corner by Jimmy Vetter, unconverted. Naples picked up one more try off a intercepted pass with around 15 minutes to go and controlled the ball to run out the clock. A tough blow for the DIIs but one they’ll have to overcome quickly as they face Krewe next week.

The DIIs posted a hard fought 17-14 victory over Miami RFC to remain undefeated and move to 6-0 for the matrix season. Next week we’re away at Naples in a battle of the two undefeated teams left in Florida.
The DIIIs fought hard against a stacked Boca side but just didn’t have enough gas. Boca wins 26-12. The DIIIs have a well earned next weekend off after four games straight.
Thanks to all the fans and old boys out this weekend. The crowd was fantastic and their support was felt on the field by all the boys.

This weekend is huge for ORFC with the DIIIs taking on Boca B and the undefeated DIIs hosting a strong Miami side. If you act now, we’ll also throw in a UCF women’s match against FSU (just pay the extra shipping). Hall of Famer Ed Pierzynski will be on hand to hand out the jerseys to the boys and we need all the support we can get to get the DIIIs back on a winning track and keep the DIIs on the road to the playoffs. The fun starts at noon Saturday with the DIIIs playing first follwoed by UCF, and the DIIs finishing off the day. Our U19 team will have cold drinks & burgers/hotdogs for sale if anybody feels the urge.
